Our top 10 most frequently asked questions?
Are Keynet Response available to respond 365 days a year?
We certainly are! We will attend 24/7, 365.
How long does the keyholding service take to set up?
Usually it can be mobilised within 24 to 48 hours of receiving your signed agreement back. It can be done at your pace. What we will need from you is a set of keys for your property, alarm codes/fobs, and somebody to show us around so that we can put our assignment instructions together.
How will my alarm company/monitoring station know that I’ve employed Keynet Response?
You will need to tell them. We will provide you will our control room number once we have completed the survey and agreed a start date.
We have a monitored alarm with Police response, why do we need keyholders?
Unfortunately burglary and vandalism isn’t top of the priority list for Police and with further cuts to funding this will remain to be the case. When there is high criminal activity in your area it could be the case that the Police don’t respond at all. Even if they do attend, they don’t have access to your property to investigate thoroughly and reset your alarm.
Are my keys safe with Keynet?
All keys are held in line with British Standards BS7984. They are stored in a secure facility and are coded rather than having a direct reference to your property which protects you in the unlikely event that the keys were to fall into the wrong hands.
Can I trust the attending Security Officers?
All keyholding staff are fully licensed with the Security Industry Authority to carry out duties in accordance with BS7984.
They are all vetted to BS7858 which means that they have Employment Reference checks covering a 5 year period, a Criminal record DBS check, identity checks, address history and credit check.
Why does anybody need to respond to my alarm?
If your alarm isn’t responded to and proves to be a ‘nuisance’, you can be served with a Noise Abatement Notice by your council and may have to force entry into your property to disconnect the alarm.
Failure to comply with the Abatement Notice is a criminal offence and you can be prosecuted and fined up to £5,000 for residential premises and £20,000 for commercial premises
Will you need to contact our staff outside of office hours?
Most attendances can be resolved without the need for contact. The service is fully flexible however and some of our customers want to be alerted when we are on the property, regardless of the incident. Other customers don’t wish to know until the next morning when they receive the attendance report.
In the event of a break in or other ‘critical event’ we would normally give your escalation list a call, provide a summary of the incident, and take further instructions.
We would not leave the site until we have been relieved of our duties or the property has been fully secured.
What response time do you offer to my property?
Response times can’t be guaranteed. Keyholding is a shared service so the amount of other alarms going off at the same time can be a factor, along with the location of your property, weather conditions and traffic.
What we can guarantee is to select the best Service Partner local to your property who have capability of providing good response times.
If we don’t think that we can respond to your property in line with your expectations we will let you know and give you an idea of what times are achievable.
Why should we have a keyholder service?
Corporate Manslaughter legislation means that Directors and Line managers are responsible for staff members.
Attending potentially dangerous incidents could put your staff and or family members at risk.
Are your current keyholders always available to attend? Having a drink of alcohol may render them incapable. If they do attend, will they be productive the next day following a call out to the property?
Our question is, why wouldn’t you have a professional keyholding service?
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch
